For those who want the benefits of living in a big city but still have a bit of privacy, Ballantyne is the perfect place. Rather than having to move out to the suburbs and trade a long commute for peace and quiet, Ballantyne serves as the best of both worlds, offering upscale housing with the amenities of the big city.
One of the larger draws of living within a city center is the ability to get anything you want. Ballantyne easily checks that off the list by having several upscale shopping centers nearby. Ballantyne Commons East, for instance, spans over 2,200 acres and includes everything from barbershops and dentists to tanning and nail salons, plus restaurants and tons of local shops. Ballantyne Village has a variety of boutiques, and Ballantyne Corners has an art center and lots of shops to explore.
The neighborhood was created in 1995 and has continued to expand with new shops, restaurants, parks, and other amenities. It's convenient to have so much at your fingertips, but the community is also in a location that makes travel a breeze.
Ballantyne sits near the border of South Carolina, making weekend getaways to another state easy. The South Fork, the largest tributary of the Catawba River, lies under an hour away. Once there, you can head out on a paddleboard, kayak, or canoe, go white water rafting, swim, fish, and more.
If you'd rather stay in town to enjoy the outdoors, there are plenty of places to visit. Our Park has a wide open, dog-friendly grassy area with three different 2,000-pound bull statues made of bronze decorating the space. If you're a fan of artwork like that, you can also check out the Ballantyne Monuments, which stand 30 feet tall and command attention while celebrating the city's roots. For a picnic lunch, stop by Crawford Pond or Cullman Park, or go hit a few golf balls at Knotts Green, which has a USGA standard putting surface.
After so much time outside, you'll have worked up an appetite. One of the best things about the city is its wide array of fantastic foods. If you're a fan of food trucks, there is a rotating guest list of them, featuring cuisine from Cousins Maine Lobster, International Truck of Tacos, The Boba Tea Bar, and more. If you'd rather sit down for your meal, make a reservation at a restaurant that's been a staple here the longest: Red Rocks Café. The locally-owned American restaurant has an enormous menu with something to please everyone.
For a more down-home experience, check out the New South Kitchen and Bar. The chefs there support family-owned farms and all-natural and sustainable farming methods, whipping up a seasonal menu of Southern cuisine. If you're in the mood for beef, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse is the place to be. It is one of the most upscale restaurants in the area and includes a mezzanine bar on the second story, along with a private wine cellar where guests can host private gatherings.
One of the things that makes Ballantyne so beautiful is how clean the community is. It seems to nearly shine, with everything looking prim and orderly. Having pests around would break that trance. Fortunately, a local veteran owned and operated business can come out quickly to take care of those pests. Contact At Ease Pest Solutions if you need regular pest control service or require immediate assistance with an infestation.
