Termites

Termite Exterminator

Termites cost 5 billion dollars annually to homeowners in the US. In North Carolina, Subterranean (underground) termites are the most damaging and much more common than in most other states. There are 3 species of termites that's been found in NC. However there's currently only 1 Native species of termite in NC and that's Eastern Subterranean termites.

Although Formosan Subterranean and Drywood termites have been spotted in few specific parts of NC due to the importation of mismanaged goods most often in building materials such as railroad ties or other imported goods. Those specific infestations were localized, our State Department of Agriculture monitored and we have been able to eliminate those types of species from being able to colonize or satellite their colonies in our state.

What Are The Odds Of Getting Termites In North Carolina?

There is an average of 18-22 colonies per acre of land throughout the Piedmont of North Carolina. The colonies can grow to 1,000,000 in population. Subterraneans feed year-round while activity peaks in early spring. Once they find a food source, they release a pheromone. Like a dinner bell, it alerts the colonies that a meal has been found. That pheromone can reach up to a football field's length away. That's a considerable radius! Termites do more damage than all natural disasters combined, and most homeowner's insurance won't cover remediation. That's why a prevention plan with At Ease Pest is more than worth the cost. Do you want to take a chance on your most significant investment?

What Action Should I Take To Protect My Home From Termites?

Besides termites, we provide solutions for Wood Destroying Organisms (WDO) and their conducive conditions, including but not limited to wood-boring beetles, including powder post and old house borers. We provide treatment for carpenter ants, carpenter bees, and wood destroying fungi's. Common solutions we provide include crawlspace encapsulations, vapor barrier Installations, and insulation replacement for subflooring. Most WDO infestations go without notice until you step through your floor into your basement, or you start seeing your interior wall's paint bubble out, or shelter tubes appear on your ceilings. At this point, it's a little too late! Termites can build a two-foot shelter tube from the ground to your wood foundation quickly, so an inspection once a year may not be enough. We offer a lifetime warranty on our treatments, and do not charge for retreatment, or booster treatments like our competitors do.

Total peace of mind and active protection for your home is what we provide. We are fully licensed and insured. Our technicians have over a decade of experience treating for subterranean termites. Don't sign waiver forms; let us do it the right way, as the state recommends. We pride ourselves on never having to retreat a home for termites after we treat only one time. Can your pest control company claim that? Our track record is perfect for a reason, just like our reputation.

Pre-Treatment For New Construction

Pre-treatment for new construction is required before construction can start. One of three types of treatment is required by law in North Carolina, soil treatments, bait systems, and wood treatments (less common). Soil treatment is the most common as insecticides are used on the soil beneath a structure's foundation and before the slab of the structure is laid down; the complete foundation excavation site is treated. Bait systems are becoming much more common as they make it easier for construction to occur and are less costly; we offer both. Call today to learn more.

Inspections For Real Estate Transactions (WDIR-100)

We are members of Carolina's MLS with access to showing time and supra keys for your convenience. We also provide your report the same day, often before we leave the driveway. North Carolina law requires inspections and certifications for certain real estate transactions to be made at or before closing. Most mortgage lenders (for example, VA and FHA mortgages) will require inspection and certification before a mortgage loan is closed. In North Carolina, a wood-destroying insect report must be made on the form WDIR 100, which is prepared upon inspection and certification by a licensed professional provider. It is important to know that a purchaser has the right to select the licensed professional of their choice to provide the inspection and report. Even when a WDIR-100 is not required by law, obtaining the inspection and certification is essential for making a smart decision on whether to move forward or not.
