Welcome to the city of Statesville. It’s not far from the banking and cultural mecca that is Charlotte, but this city of 25,000 people is special in a different way. At Statesville they don’t seek fame and fortune. This city enjoys good down to earth food, an honest day’s work and taking care of our friends and neighbors. We’re also pretty proud of our local astronaut, Dr. Thomas H. Marshburn, who’s spent time at the International Space Station looking down at this beautiful planet.
A Unique Environment
It’s not quite coastal and not quite in the mountains. Statesville is nestled between dairy farms, fields of corn and soy. Near enough to highways that can quickly take you to those fancy cities if you’re interested. Here you can find beautiful historic architecture with walk-able streets and unique shops and restaurants. Statesville is the place where it all comes together.
What Do We Do Here?
One of the favorite things here in Statesville is the Carolina Balloon Fest
in October. Hot air balloon rides here are amazing. There’s a beautiful sculpture garden downtown, some wonderful trails in the area and cycle friendly atmosphere. If history is your thing the Fourth Creek Burying Ground is a must see. There’s also the Annual Statesville Pumpkin Fest, which is not to be missed. And if you’re into it, there’s the incredible Full Bloom Film Festival.
There are other historic places as well in this 200+ year old city. Some of the sites include Fort Dobbs State Historic Site, the Gregory Creek Homestead, Linney’s Mill and nearby Love Valley. Statesville also has music festivals, escape rooms, breweries, art museums and way more interesting things to check out. There is always something to do in Statesville.
Statesville offers a good, safe place to call home. Family comes first and friends and neighbors are family. The city offers the cultural, shops, food and experiences of a large city with the safe, down home and tightknit community of a small town.
